Embrace Life Get Well Card by Nicole Tugrul

I made this card for a dear friend and thought I'd share it with you.  I used the technique for making a flower with a border punch to add a border around the stamped image on this card.  The leaves are from the Embrace Life stamp set which I love..it is so versatile. They were colored lightly with my aqua painter along with bashful blue around the leaves so there was a soft color. The pretty in pink flowers are from the trio of flowers punch, I added dimension by running my embossing stylus over the flowers on the setting mat from the mat pack.  I ran the distressing tool around all the edges of the card, including the greeting. I like that this card has a shabby chic look to it, I hope my friend will like it too!

A Couple Cards to Share

I have made a few cards these past couple days that I want to share with you.  The first 2 are Father's Day cards.

This first card was for my Husband.  We have 3 horses, and he just loves them.  So I figured he would like this card..and he did!

This card was for my Father-in-Law.  I have been wanting to do a masculine card with a bolder color palette, and this fit the bill.  I used retired DSP and the star punches.  It was quick and easy to make.

This last card is the Thank You card that I made for my baby showers.  I haven't said anything on my blog about this, but I am expecting a baby boy in late July.  I had 2 baby showers over the last 2 weeks and had a lot of people to thank.  I made this card simple but sweet so I could knock out a bunch at once.  You can't see in this picture, but I used the small polka dots texturz plate on the bashful blue background.

The elephant was outlined with a fine tip marker to make it pop.  All in all, I am pleased with the outcome.  I was able to whip up 20 cards in no time!

Great Friend

I have had a busy couple of days, but I wanted to get a card out to Kris, one of my downline who has been through a lot.  I ended up with 2 similar versions of the same card.  I used the Great Friend set from the Occasions Mini.  I went with soft colors that I think are beautiful together, pink pirouette, baja breeze and certainly celery.  This first card has a butterfly embellished with a pearl from the Pretties Kit and a flower stamen from my ribbon flower days.  The stamen makes a perfect antenna and it is pearly so it matches the Pretties Kit.

The second card only has a couple differences.

On this card I used a 1/8 circle punch on each of the scallops instead of the 1/16, so the border at the top is different.  I used a retired greeting, and I used blue gems that are not SU.  I used the gems because they looked great and I figured it was more post office friendly than the big pearl.

Father's Day Cards

I've got another short and sweet card post for you.  This time showcasing Father's Day.
The first card is all about the tools.  My husband is a former custom home builder, so I had to do a card with tools!!  I used the retired set Power Up.  I also was able to use up some retired 6x6 dsp from previous catalogs.

The second card is for the dad's that like to grill out.  I used another retired set.  I figured that the card would go over well with buyers at the craft shows.

Mother's Day Cards

This picture is not as clear as I'd like it to be, but the card in person is amazing!  I used the Manhattan Flower textured Impressions Die on vellum card stock.  I cut around the roses at the top and then used vellum tape to attach it to the pink pirouette card base.  I stamped and cut out the butterfly from the Great Friend set from the Occasions Mini and added a pearl from the Pretties Kit.  The final touch is the ribbon, I used a retired pink organza ribbon.  I also did the same card in Cameo Coral.

This next card is an idea cased from  Patty.  I used a retired DSP from the last catty.  I ended up making 16 of these cards for the Extreme Home Party and for my family.  It was a great way to use my retired DSP in all styles.  Thanks for the great idea Patty!
